Queensland Regattas – August 2012

After a very successful campaign at the tropical regattas in 2011 – a 4th at Airlie Beach Race Week and a 5th at Hamilton Island Race Week – Manly Sailing will once again be taking a Sydney 60 to the Queensland Race Weeks in August 2012.  This year we are also including Magnetic Island Race Week.

Our Sydney 60, Eureka II was built to compete in the Sydney to Hobart and is a beautiful full on racing yacht that has been modified for comfort and speed. She is competitive yet comfortable and being a large race yacht there are plenty of roles on board for everyone to get involved. She has berths for 12 people.

The Manly Sailing Crew goes to these regattas with one aim in mind – to have as much fun as possible, both on and off the water.  Crew who have joined us in recent years still talk about their experiences and in fact a lot of them come back with us each year.

From the 10th – 16th of  August we will be racing our Sydney 60 in Airlie Beach Race Week where we hope to improve on our 4th overall  and drive the local competition even crazier than we did last year!

Once we have claimed the trophies at ABRW we are heading off on to Hamilton Island Race Week where we were gun boat every day last year. This year we are going back to claim more trophies!

We will then be racing at Magnetic Island Race Week, a first for us but one that we are hugely looking forward to. Magnetic Island Race Week has been established for just 5 years but is rapidly turning into the Regatta to attend.
