This August I (Will), one of the young instructors at Manly Sailing, travelled to Noumea, New Caledonia with a team representing the RPAYC youth development squad for the 2023 Aircalin Match Racing regatta. The event was raced in J70 sport boats with teams from Australia, New Zealand, France and New Caledonia competing. It was a very tough regatta, the team’s first international match racing event, against some of the best match racers in the world. We learnt heaps and sailed really well. Come and meet our instructors, discover our courses, and get out on the water! Manly Sailing and Manly Yacht Club are running an Open Day on the 16th September. For the younger dinghy sailors, we will have taster sessions in Optimists and O'pen Skiffs as well as some kayaks and games East Esplanade beach. Existing sailors, come and take your friends out for a sail, new sailors come have a joy ride in a boat (we will have experienced sailors there to help you).
