Hamilton Island Wrap Up What do your Manly Sailing instructors get up to in winter? …. They go NORTH, sailing up the coast and racing in the 36th edition of Hamilton Island Race week Onur boarded Rumba - a Northshore 370 from MYHC – for a 1,120 NM passage from Sydney to Hamilton Island in 17 days. One of the best adventures of his life despite having to deal with rigging damage and 4 days without any instruments. James took up the same passage on board Savannah Girl – a Swan 46 from MYC and left Sydney with a light breeze out of the south [...]

Despite the challenges the last couple of years have ushered in with COVID and remote learning, two Northern Beaches Secondary College schools, Balgowlah Boys Campus and Manly Selective Campus have supported students to attend the weekly Wednesday afternoon training [...]

Joining the world-first project to take care of our oceans The ‘Seabin Project’ have a simple mission statement: to live in a world without the need for Seabins. With the objective of creating a pollution-free ocean for future generations, the project has seen huge growth and support since its inception in 2015. It may have started as a simple idea: creating rubbish bins for the oceans to collect debris, waste, oil, fuel and detergents. Now, with the help and support of volunteers and investors, there are seabins being installed across the world, and the project has expanded to include [...]
Resources to encourage your children to put down their devices and play outside Guest blog contributed by StopNDD.org! A TV or tablet might provide your child’s favourite form of entertainment, but as a parent, you probably wish they would take a bigger interest in playing outside. There’s nothing wrong with playing a few educational games or occasionally watching programs on TV, but there's a world of nature out there with so much potential for fun, learning, stimulation, and imagination! In fact, the dependence on screen-time has become such an issue that the term 'nature-deficit disorder' was coined to describe what [...]
The Fabulous Four Beaches The Manly Sailing team are proud to be a part of the Northern Beaches community, and think this very special corner of Sydney is worth looking after. We’ve been so excited to hear about the new developments and projects that are underway. It may have been a quiet few months in lockdown, but we’re thankful for all the hard work that’s been going on to keep Manly in tip top shape, re-boot the local economy and look out for those in need. Here’s a rundown of some of [...]
The Fabulous Four Beaches Store Beach Store beach can only be accessed by water, meaning it feels very tranquil with barely any crowds. Collins Flat Beach Collins Flat Beach is nestled between Little Manly Cove and North Head. With beautiful harbour views and its own waterfall, this little beach feels serene. If you’re feeling brave, you can make the jump [...]
