Celebrating Alana, Daisy, Finn and Toby’s success in the Flying 11s transition fleet State Championships!
At Manly Sailing, we’re always proud of the achievements of our sailors, and we’re especially excited to celebrate four of our own — Alana, Daisy, Finn and Toby who recently won the transition Fleet at the Flying 11s State Championships held at Middle Harbour and Belmont.
Daisy started her sailing journey right here at Manly Sailing, learning the ropes as a beginner in dinghys, quickly becoming a skilled sailor. She now helps out as an Assistant Instructor, sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation. Her dedication and hard work have paid off, and her state championship win is a huge accomplishment.
Alana, who joins in the holidays on our Teen Keelboat Sailing Camp, has also shown tremendous growth in her sailing skills. With hands-on experience in the camp, she is motivated, very talented and teaming up with Daisy to win the transition fleet on handicap is a testament to her skill and determination.
Finn and Toby learnt to sail together in our Level 1 and 2 program here at Manly Sailing. They were aged 7 and 8 when they started, quickly excelling in dinghy sailing, and then progressing into keelboat sailing in our Youth Development Program. The boys both compete in the MYC twilight series, Toby skippers in flying 11s and Finn as crew. The boys volunteer as Assistant Instructors at the club showing up as excellent role models for our upcoming sailors sharing their skill set with the team.
Together, they’ve worked hard, supported each other, and shown that anything is possible with dedication and teamwork. We couldn’t be more proud of what they’ve achieved, and we’re excited to see what’s next to come.
Congratulations, Alana, Daisy, Finn and Toby! We’re so proud to have you all in the Manly Sailing family. Here’s to many more successes on the water!
