Learn to sail. Build confidence on and off water!

Learning to sail teaches you so much more than just how to sail. It helps you to plan for the unexpected, builds confidence on, in and off water. It encourages and promotes teamwork, even when you are sailing on your own and it opens up a whole community of like minded people that are love the water and are keen to share their passion.

Term Time Sailing

Our focus is to teach children how to sail in a fun safe environment, giving them the skills to enable them to get out on the water sailing. Truly a diverse sport for life.

The activities are the ideal way to keep your kids involved in a regular structured sporting activity. Term time classes run on the same day every week, for 2 hours 15 minutes. Each session helps them learn and practice a little more slowly building up their skills until they can confidently handle their boat single handedly.

Level 1

This program is for children who have sailed a little or not at all and covers all the basics on wind awareness, how to sail in a straight line (harder than it sounds), how to sail a figure of 8 course and what to do in the event of a capsize.

Cost is $460 per child (eligible to use Active Kids voucher)

Level 2

This program is for children who have completed the Level 1 course, know the basics and want to improve their sailing skills. In level 2 they will start out in an Optimist and move onto an O’PEN Skiff when ready. They will learn how to handle a more tricky boat single on their own, about the 5 points of sail, how to come alongside and how to sail a triangle course well.

Cost is $560 per child (eligible to use Active Kids voucher)

Level 3

This program is for children who have completed Level 1 and Level 2 courses and would like to advance their boat handling skills. By the end of level 3 they should be able to sail in and out from the deck, be able to apply the 5 essentials, and have an understanding of race rules and to have competed in some fun practice races.

Cost is $560 per child (eligible to use Active Kids voucher)

Manly Sailing Cup

For those that are in level 3, or who have completed level 3, we run a fun midweek social race to help the sailors get more practice and advance their boat handling skills. The Manly Sailing Cup consists of ~3 races each session followed by a sausage sizzle and prize giving on the deck (parents welcome to join).

This program is for children who would like to do a mixture of activities: sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Activities are dependent on weather conditions and will be changed/swapped accordingly.
