Term Time Sailing

Build their confidence through engaging sessions filled with games, while introducing them to a lifelong sport. Our school programs strikes the perfect balance between fundamental sailing theory and practical skills, all wrapped up in fun-filled activities suitable for beginners and experienced sailors alike. Dinghy sailing, small yacht sailing, we can accomodate different ages, group sizes and abilities.  

Get out on the water and keep improving your skills. Our mini term sailing program is for sailors that already have a little experience and are keen to sail in the autumn/spring.  

This program is for children who have completed the beginner Optimist course and knows the basics and wants to improve their sailing skills. In this course they will start out in an Optimist and move onto an O’PEN Skiff when ready. They will learn how to handle a more tricky boat on their own, about the 5 points of sail, how to come alongside and how to sail a triangle course well.  

Sailing is a wonderful way to get children out in the fresh air, learning a new skill and participating in a sport that is both a team and individual sport. But most of all…….Sailing is Fun! This program is for children who are new to sailing, or have a little experience. It covers all the basics on wind awareness, how to sail in a straight line (harder than it sounds), how to sail a figure of 8 course and what to do in the event of a capsize.
