NSW General Powerboat Licence
A one day /course with a mixture of theory and practical that will give you the knowledge and skills to get your NSW general boat licence.
The course is for beginners and those that have experience but would like some additional instruction and to get their NSW boat licence. The course covers, safety, regulations, general boat handling, docking, as well as low and high speed boat handling.
After completing this course, you will be able to take the certificate to a NSW Service Centre to apply for your licence.

Practical Skills
High speed handling (trim, stability, driving position, crew safety, waves, quick stop
Safety and preparation (kill cord, life jackets, communications, crew position and safety)
Seamanship skills (anchoring, berthing, handling lines, mooring buoys)
Low speed handling (close quarters, standing off, wind and tide.
Emergency situations (types of emergency, man overboard recovery, marine radio distress calls)
Powerboat theory
Personal equipment (clothing, lifejackets etc)
Parts of the boat (basic terminology)
On board safety
Types of craft (hull types, engines, fuel)
Basic weather theory (forecasts, sea state, effect of wind and tide)
Legal responsibilities and obligations.
Rules of the road (application of basic IRPCS whilst underway)
