NSW General Powerboat Licence (Start Powerboating)

Your powerboating pathway begins here, introducing you to practical driving skills, trip planning, boat maintenance, safety equipment and dealing with emergency situations. After completing this course, you will be able to take the certificate to a NSW Service Centre to apply for your licence.

Course Overview

A one day /course with a mixture of theory and practical that will give you the knowledge and skills to get your NSW general boat licence. The course is for beginners and those that have experience but would like some additional instruction and to get their NSW boat licence. You will be in a small group with a powerboat instructor ensuring you get plenty of time to practise and refine your skills.

Course Requirements

We require all participants to be at least 12 years old and no older than 85 years old. All participants must be water confident and fit.

Course Content

Trip Preparation, Weather & The Environment, Personal Equipment, Parts of The Boat, Engines & Fuel, Launching, Low Speed Manoeuvres, High Speed Manoeuvres, Moorings & Anchoring, Navigation, Rules of the Road & Regulations.

Course Location

Our courses operate out of our office for the theory component, and we use the beautiful manly cove and surrounding areas for the on water component.
