Great fun for teenagers

We have lots of options for teenagers who are just starting their sailing journey. If you and your friends are looking to master a new skill, or just to spend more time outdoors and on Sydney Harbour, sailing is great hobby to learn. Manly Sailing offers courses for beginners with no experience and for those that have already built up some time on the water. Our instructors will guide you around Sydney Harbour and will show you a fun, safe time with you and your friends.

O’PEN Skiff

One of the best ways to learn to sail is in a dinghy. Small, manoeuvrable and you have to control everything yourself. Learn to sail single handedly in an O’PEN Skiff. It can be a bit tricky at first as the boats require some balancing, but teenagers tend to be more confident and learn quickly. We generally put the teenagers straight into level 2 and within a few weeks they have often built up the boat handling skills to manage their boat with confidence.

Manly Sailing Cup

Already have sailing experience and can confidently handle an O’PEN Skiff? We run a fun laid back race night for those that are level 3 or above sailors. Session starts with rigging our boats, various races on the water: practice, fun & Manly Sailing Cup point scoring series, and we finish the session off with sausage sizzle and prize giving (parents welcome & encouraged to join). If you can’t make it for the whole series, casual entry is possible subject to availability.

Aqualuna Keelboat

Keelboat Courses

For those that have already have lots of experience in dinghies or perhaps are too big and have outgrown dinghies, we run youth classes on our 24ft keelboat, Aqualuna. No experience required, this course will cover all the key elements of theory and practical to sail a small keelboat and depending on the group skill level we may also hoist the spinnaker!

Watersports Program

Our watersports program is a great opportunity for kids to try and improve on many fun activities in a safe environment each week.
